| Biography: |
| The Diamondbacks are Merrill's fifth pro organization. He first reached Triple-A in 2002, and has bounced around since then. He finds himself in Double-A with Mobile, and at 28 still isn't likely to provide much offense. Merrill's experience with the glove should prove quite beneficial to Mark Reynolds and Javier Brito, each of whom are still learning new infield positions. The BayBears' pitching staff won't mind the stability he brings, either. |
