| Biography: |
| Harris grew up in Queensbury, New York. Harris graduated from the College of William and Mary, and was selected in 5th round of the 2001 amateur draft by the Chicago Cubs.
Harris made his major-league debut in 2004 with the Cubs, but was sent at the July 31 trade deadline to the Montreal Expos as part of an eight-player, four-team trade that brought Nomar Garciaparra to Chicago. Harris appeared in 20 games for Montreal, batting .160 with one home run in 50 at-bats.
In 2005-06, Harris had seen limited playing time with the Washington Nationals, with whom he has served in the capacity of utility infielder. In July 2006, he was sent by Washington along with Gary Majewski, Bill Bray, Darryl Thompson and Royce Clayton to Cincinnati in exchange for Felipe López, Austin Kearns and Ryan Wagner.
Harris was traded to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in January, 2007. |
