Biography:
A 2005 graduate of Hoover High School in Des Moines, Iowa. Was a two sport standout (baseball and basketball) for Hoover prior to being selected by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays with the 75th overall pick in the 2005 draft. Many scouting agencies including Perfect Game USA/Baseball America had him ranked higher than where he was eventually drafted. Ranked as the number 9 overall prospect in the Devil Rays organization in Scout's pre season baseball prospects guide. Will start the 2007 season in Columbus, but could rise up the system quickly. Finished the 2006 season 4-3 with a 4.48 ERA in his first full season at the professional level.
