| Weylie, a senior right-hander at Eckerd College, is off to a strong start to his final collegiate campaign. Through February, 27, he is leading the Tritons in nearly every meaningful pitching statisitical category, including wins (three), ERA (3.33), strikeouts (23) and complete games (two).
Weylie's fastball sits in the mid-80s, topping out at 86 MPH. Has strong command over his pitching, relying more on control and deception than overpowering stuff.
An All-State selection as a senior at powerhous Seminole High School, Weylie struggled in his first two seasons at Eckerd. He posted a 1-7 record and 6.65 ERA as a junior in 2007. |
