Biography:
A former sixth-round pick, Royster had a breakout season in 2007, batting .329/.380/.982 with 30 home runs and 98 RBIs. He nearly won the South Atlantic League Triple Crown, shooting up several publication's top prospect lists. In the Scout.com preseason publication, the network ranked him 177 in its Top 200. The left fielder was also named the MiLB.com Class A Offensive Player of the Year while earning SAL Post-Season and Mid-Season Honors as well.

Royster has struggled in the Florida State League through the first two months of 2008, batting .225/.280/.297 in the Vero Beach Devil Rays' first 60 games.
