Drafted by White Sox in 50th round, 2001; drafted by Blue Jays in first Round (No. 32), 2004; traded to Brewers with OF Gabe Gross and RHP Dave Bush for 1B Lyle Overbay; traded to Indians with OF Matt LaPorta, RHP Rob Bryson and player to be named for LHP C.C. Sabathia, 7/7/08.

Began college career at Louisville, going 17-9 with a 4.50 ERA over two seasons. ... transferred to Texas A&M and went 10-7 with a 3.58 ERA in 2004 before turning pro.

Made MLB debut vs. Nationals, 6/5/06, striking out two in one perfect inning. ... took loss in first start three days later vs. Padres. ... earned win in next start vs. Reds, striking out six without a walk and giving up five runs over seven innings, 6/12/06. ... next start was vs. Indians and he got his first career hit, a single, off RHP Paul Byrd.
